Middle School Bus
State law requires schools to supply bus transportation to students in grade 5 and 6 who live two miles or more away from the school. The school uses Google Walk to determine the distance of those students who live over two miles away from the middle school and therefore are entitled to a seat on the bus. Those students will be contacted directly.
If there are available seats on the bus after the required students are placed, students will be chosen by lottery for available seats. Seats are limited. The cost of the bus is $250 per year. The bus has three stops: Essex Street lights closest to Stop & Shop; Machon School on Burpee Road; and the corner of Foster Road and Elwin Street. The bus does not alter from this route. Students will be picked up at dismissal at the middle school and dropped off at their respective stops.
IMPORTANT: Everyone has to re-apply every year for a seat on the bus, even if you have had a seat in previous years.
